Slow Sky, throttled....TalkTalk here I come?

The only LLU service at my exchange is TalkTalk.

I'm currently on Sky Connect (<=8Mbs) and get around 3.3Mbs (although this drops to 1Mbs after 6pm!!)

      My stats are:

      NetGear DG834GT [Sky Firmware] V1-White

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 42.0 db 26.0 db
Noise Margin 10.5 db 22.0 db

I'm 578mtrs from the exchange (according to SamKnows) - I know it depends on the actual length of copper: but even so, 578m straight line is pretty good?

Would I be better going with TalkTalk which is LLU on my exchange?

If you are that close to the exchange your attenuation should be a lot lower than that, possibly you may need to check your internal wiring for faults.

Or that you are close to the exchange and your line happens to run for 4 miles in a long loop around to the exchange.

As for going talk talk I would want to speak to other people who are on the LLU package to see how they handle things.

For christ's sake don't go with those! I was forced to go with them when they took over AOL. if you think you are being throttled now wait till you go with that shower.

My next door neighbour is with TT, he has had no problems at all. It costs him 17 a month for phone calls, phone rental and broadband.
