Help for modem issues - 11.36 fix

      Hi Guys
after having many problems with sky , as the computer is kept upstairs and bt mainline is of course downstairs.

I tried many options from adaptors that transfer signals through the mains (duo net etc etc), many wireless usb options. A very simple option in the form of 11.36 came, my modem now sits next to the bt master socket and has a cable going straight to my computer job done.

Im sure many of you have done this but if you having problems and cant seem to a solution try this link:

      Netshop - ADSL Cables - RJ11 to RJ11 Cables

the quality is second to none.
      hope this helps.

      Greetings,

      OK I'll bite...

So tell me how does the end of the cable (RJ11) actually connect to your computer?

As the computer will probably have a built-in LAN port which takes an RJ45 plug and an RJ11 just won't fit.

It will fit actually, but why you would want to use an RJ11 in place of an RJ45 is beyond me

It's a 20 metre cable from wall socket to modem!

Re: Help for modem issues - 11.36 fix

      Greetings,

I know it will fit, but it won't fit correctly... this could then lead to faults with the connection between the router and PC due to the improper fitting.

I'd rather buy a 20mtr RJ45 cable for about 6.90 and have a proper connection and a cheaper cable.

I know, that is why Useless and me think he is using the wrong cable/plugs, he should be using one with RJ45 connectors for a good fit.

Well, it can really only go two ways. Either he has a 20m ADSL cable or a 20m Cat5 and the wrong link!
