Can you confirm you don't qualify for the credit for the cheaper option of BB?

I think the agent was wrong, there has been no reported cases of charging for going over your limits and like isistme said, that's not the first course of action.

I found a similar anomoly on my account showing I'd had my Mid BB increased to 10 whereas it should be 5 as I take Sky Talk.

I was told it was correct as the new Mid price is 10, however when the bill is raised I will be credited 5 because I take Sky Talk. So expect the full cost of any BB package you take to be shown but also expect when the bill is raised to receive a credit for the appropriate discount.

It actually seems a logical way to do it as the new Mid price is 10 and I will be given a discount. However Sky could have told us they would do it this way!

      My current bill shows

      25/02/2009 - 01/03/2009 Broadband Max 1.43
      01/03/2009 - 25/03/2009 Broadband Max 12.86

      But then a credit:

      01/03/2009 - Broadband On-net monthly loyalty discount of #5 until 01/01/10 4.29 CR

The Broadband discount shows like this on my TV package price

BB On-net monthly discount of #5 when any ST product exists on the acc 5.00 CR
So it looks like they are using the TV subscription to discount the Broadband.

As I said earlier, right hand does not know what the left is doing, if you don't have the answer to hand, just fob the customer off with anything that comes to mind.

Re: Sky Charging me extra for going over bandwith limit!!

Ive also had the same for my bill this month:

      02/02/2009 - 06/02/2009 Broadband Connect 2.19
      06/02/2009 - 06/03/2009 Broadband Connect 17.00
      06/03/2009 - 06/04/2009 Broadband Connect 17.00
      Subtotal 36.19

Quite strange really, i guess the 2.19 is for going over my usage limit, which i knew i would as i could only get Connect and we use the internet daily and i use it for online gaming so fairs fair i suppose. Not sure why they have charged me for a months in advance tho!?

No, It looks like the 2.19 is the pro-rata charge for your broadband service being provided between 02/02/09 and 06/02/09 where they have slightly adjusted your billing date?

Re: Sky Charging me extra for going over bandwith limit!!

I received the following email from Sky:

"Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.

A new pricing structure is to be effected as of the 1st of March 2009. All broadband services will then cost an additional 5 per month. Sky Talk and broadband Connect customers are exempt from the price increase. If you subscribe to Sky Talk the new increased price will still appear on your Sky billing, however, this increase is to be offset by a monthly credit, thereby maintaining your broadband charge at the current rate of 5.00 per month.

On the 1st of February 2009, you were charged 5.00 + 2.50 for your broadband Mid service. A credit of 2.50 was applied to your account on the same day. In essence, you have not been charged more than your usual broadband bill of 5.00 per month. Please satisfy yourself that this is the case by referring to your Sky billing.

If you need further help or information, please reply to this email."
