    how long before i get a reply

    This is a discussion on how long before i get a reply within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; I contacted sky last thursday via there online form I asked for my max delay to be dropped to 8 ...

      how long before i get a reply

      I contacted sky last thursday via there online form I asked for my max delay to be dropped to 8

      you won't get a reply via email...and tbh you're better off calling as you might notice your sync speed go down...

      having said that, might be done already...

      my sync speed did go down the other day to 15,462 now it's back up to 16,381 and upload of 796

      Looks like DLM is on or has been on your line. Reducing delays does not always result in a reduction in speed. It looks like you have a very good line so it should not in your case.

      I am not certain but I don't think delays can be reduced on your line until DLM has finished. What were your pings before and what are they now?

      if it IS DLM, then the delays are likely to be at 8 already...

      but now my sync speed has gone down can i get it back up to what it was
      16,381 and upload of 796

      current stats
      ========================================
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 15354 kbps 764 kbps
      Line Attenuation 29.0 db 13.5 db
      Noise Margin 7.3 db 16.5 db

      i know it's being abit picky but is it possible to get 16,381 again seems like my line has been capped

      the upstream is the correct speed, so that won't change (DLM set it too high for some reason)...and looking at your SNR that's the best downstream you'll get too...

      also, DLM sets delays to 8s by default, looks like they've been raised as opposed to lowered...you didn't need to ask Sky to do anything...

      well since the email reply my pings have gone down 10ms so they must have dont something to the line also as for 15354 kbps being the best i will get I was getting 16381 with 7.0db SNR for the last 260 hours with no drop outs or errors but since the email i can only sync at 15354 kbps and i cant see a reason why
