      scratching my head......

my first post so take it easy on me........and i do apoligise if the solution to my problem is obvious............my download tops out at 530 or so kbps, and has been doin so for some time, i have tried many different things some advised by sky yet my router statistics and my download speed never change
......i also dont understand why someone from the sky tech team advised me to change the cable coming from the master socket to the router as the router was showing a stronger signal....maybe i'm wrong on this but i would assume that if a decent signal was reaching my router then it probabley wouldnt have nething to do with my cable coming from master socket to router ....again i apoligise if this sound like a obvious problem that i'm struggleing to solve ...........thx

Can you do a speedtest on our tester?

And then copy and paste the results?

That seems about right for your stats. Is there a particular time of the day when your downloads slow down?

As for the second post, you are not on Connect, according to your profile you are on Mid, hence why it was removed. If you are on Connect, it may be traffic management that is kicking in between 5pm and Midnight.

Well 4256kbps is your throughput or Actual speed if it were.
5120kbps is the connection speed between your router and the exchange.

The Throughput will always be lower than what you are synced at.

530kbps? Well Depends where you are actually downloading from. P2P can be slow depending on how many ppl downloading the same thing - Im not 100% sure about those things as I personally never use them.
And FTP's Etc well I usually get slow connection to them uploading game files or downloading game files to server... So I'm not sure..

You said it man " torrents " these all depend on how many users are uploading ,
As for downloading this all depends on where you are downloading from and Also how many other users are also downloading ,

Also you said max of 530Kbps is this the transfer rate like this ?

If so then this speed is fine .
