snr is positivly respective to the differentail between max atainable and sync rate.
      ie
      sync - 4096
      max atainable - 5120
      SNR - 10 -14
ofcourse this is not always true but is a gd rule of thumb esp for CST agents ofcourse not those who cannot even spell CST (mentioning no names - steve knows who they are)

Mine runs on 6 db no problem
Na its not man average for connect is from 15 to 25 db
I would say that is high and a good idea to ring Sky and get CST to reprofile the line
Isitme I think what you all may be missing is his noise margin of 19dbs. This is very high, even for Connect, which normally works on a higher margin than LLU.

Hi this is the problem on connect
Connect – 40GB & subject to Traffic Management Policy.
I think it would be a good idea to have a look below

Ok so whats a good snr for connect / BT then ?

      (Not my line)
Current Noise Margin: 8.0 dB (Downstream) 26.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Attenuation: 11.9 dB (Downstream) 5.0 dB (Upstream)
Current Output Power: 11.7 dBm (Downstream) 12.3 dBm (Upstream)

      (My line)
      Noise margin (Down/Up) 11.3 dB / 20.0 dB
      Line attenuation (Down/Up) 45.0 dB / 24.5 dB
      Output power (Down/Up) 19.3 dBm / 12.1 dBm

There is no such thing as a 'good snr for connect'. Provided your are syncing at a good rate for your attenuation, with a noise margin above about 6.9dbs, that is all that counts. If you are with BT ADSLMax, looking at your stats, I would guess that you are not syncing anywhere near the maximum, which with your noise margin, probably means you have noise problems on your line. Your margin being kept artificially high to counter the noise. The '(Not my line)' stats indicate that the line is probably syncing at the full 8128, with very few problems.

Re: Help! Sky permanently screwed me over!

There is no such thing as a good or bad snr for all connect/Bt Customer it is worked out on a singular basis depends on your phone line any noise ect the lower the noise margin the more speed but obviously the line has to be stable to hold the speed and the average perfect downstream noise margin for everyone is between 6 and 7 hope that answers your question
the way to tell if you are a connect Customer is the upload speed is set at 448k.
I think thats about right anyone wants to add or put me right feel free.
