      2 routers

      hi how do i get 2 netgear routers working together both netgear dg834gt white ones flashed with firmware V1.02.16
      1 is plugged into the telephone socket running to main pc via ethernet
      2 is plugged into a pc upstairs via ethernet

      i want to be able to run wireless from the main 1 to router 2 so i can run my xbox upstairs and other pc to connect to the internet via router 2

      i hope u all understand this and can help me out here

      I don't think the DG834GT supports wireless distribution (WDS),

      Best bet for extending wireless coverage is to link the two by ethernet. See this:

      i also have the black netgear one that sky give away will that have it?

      No - Neither will have WDS. Follow the link in the post by fihart and connect both by ethernet or use homeplugs.

      I've just noticed this on the Netgear site WDS does work with WPA+WPA2 - NETGEAR Forums
      which suggests that the black Netgear/Sky router does do WDS

      will look into that m8 i have firmwares that i am able to enable this so ill give it ago when i get a moment

      The router hardware in the black router can support WDS, but the Sky firmware doesn't. As posted the 934 (aka834v3) will support full encryption, but apparently, the 834GT, even with updated firmware, has difficulty with WDS and any type of encryption. To get it working properly, you might need 2 black Netgear routers.

      I will be interested to hear how you get on.
