Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

Quite possible! The BT engineers may have a kick at the Sky cabinet every time they pass it to annoy Sky users.

The actual work they do will have no effect on LLU lines.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

      The saga continues.

My internet connection was fine all last night, after my earlier disconnections.
Has been fine Today untill approx 12 o'clock ,when i came off the net.
This afternoon been trying to get back on,and yes more disconnections

      Here are my stats:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 32.0 db 17.5 db
Noise Margin 7.9 db 14.0 db

      Any Ideas

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

I'm getting these results from the router

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7008 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 32.0 db 17.5 db
Noise Margin 11.1 db 13.0 db

      also these
      System Up Time: 8:52:50

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 0 0 0 0 0 0:00:00
      LAN 71069 55205 0 0 0 8:52:50
      WLAN 0 0 0 0 0 8:52:25

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed kbps kbps
      Line Attenuation db db
      Noise Margin db db

Sometimes the 3rd light down ( internet light ) goes completely off, then flashes amber, then back to solid green then going completetly off again intermittantly .So obviously i am losing connection.
Do you think that due to my problems with speed issues, that there is a problem with the router? which is causing it.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

It may be the router, do you have another one to try? Have you any friends with Sky Broadband who you could borrow the router from? You could maybe swap routers for a period to see how they perform on the different lines. As long as it is a Sky router you would have no changes to make, just plug it in. If you can only get a non-Sky one you would have to obtain the username/password from your own and put them into it, which is a bit more inconvenient.
