You don't have Sky player installed do you? This will gobble up bandwidth. If you don't, shut down and try it tomorrow, maybe it will be back to normal.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

      Update on line problem.

Recieved my Phone bill a few days ago,yes i DID get Charged for the engineer call out I emailed Bt Complaining about the charge, as it is an intermittant fault on the line.A Lady from Bt ( Billing Department ) phoned me a couple of days later and agreed that as it was an intermittant fault,i would not be charged and she would get a revised bill sent to me Minus the call out charge ( Still Waiting ).

Today My sister called me at 20 to 5 , and guess what .......... Crackly Line, about 12 times in 5 minutes.
I have reported the problem again, and have told them that it is an ongoing problem and intermitant.
I have just now recieved a phone call from BT to say that the Engineer is going to check The External line on the 6th May and i dont have to stay in ,Heres hoping all will Finally be resolved.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

Engineer turned up today, was supposed to come to tomorrow.

He has replaced the wires to a spare set of connecters on the pole, also went to the junction box and moved them and done tests, replaced my filtered faceplate with a new one and also done tests on my line inside.
Trouble is these are my stats now

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7872 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 36.0 db 16.9 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 14.0 db

      Slower speed
He said something like Rambo ? will retrain my line.

That is BT speak, Rambo does not run on LLU lines. For all the work that has been done it has made no difference to your line. It is in almost exactly the same condition it was in before. The speed difference is down to the increase in your noise margin. It is beginning to look like you are stuck with it.

Really weird as my Line Attenuation 36.0 db 16.9 db looks about the same as it was before but i am getting the slower speed.

On a upside i have just recieved my revised phone bill Minus the call out charge
