Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

Noise margin will fluctuate depending on the noise on the line which alteres during the day, even passing cars could coulde interference and noise on the line etc.

That's more to do with equipment swap outs at the exchange.

That should only effect BT connections, not LLU ones. Maybe they had a kick at the Sky cabinet on the way past.

Your sync is still low for your attenuation. There must be a fault on the external line, or some low quality materials used somewhere, or a fault in the exchange. It is unlikely you will get anything done about it.

      Here is my latest stats

Noise Margin 7.8 db 15.0 db

Normally would be around 7.0 db at this time of the day.

My post at 8.41 this am was taken when we had thick mist and very damp.

I'd email Sky and ask if they've capped you; it happened to me before DLM got introduced- sync went down from 16110kbps to an abysmal 6500kbps. Needless to say I got it fixed and am now surfing at a slightly lower 15359kbps (capped) for stability.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

The noise margin can change from second to second, it is nothing to worry about unless it drops very low. Even then, with the new firmware, the connection will probably hold up until you go below zero. If you check it about 6 or 7 this evening you will probably find it is down below 7dbs, but don't worry if it is not

Edit - Don't waste your time phoning Sky, even if you are capped, your noise margin shows that it is needed.
