To add to my disconnection problem i have Not been able to get onto the net All Afternoon
So i phoned Sky again and ........my exchange has problems and will take a few hours for Sky Engineers to sort out.
Also The Power light on my Sagem Router is off, i told Sky about it, he said it was just a faulty LED and there is nothing to worry about.

On a happier note my new processer for my new Build has arrived ordered it Tuesday on supersaver ( No Postage )

Right, since the power LED stopped working correctly ( came on, then off when the internet comes on ) I have been having Lots of disconnections .
I could not be bothered to Phone Sky again,to be told Your internet is working alright, and we will not replace your Router because of a faulty LED
I decidered to buy a Sky Router off Ebay ( Bargain 0.99 and 3.00 Postage )
Now, fingers crossed i hope that it will be the end of my Problem.

Here are my stats at the moment:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12094 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.5 db 17.1 db

If you are not using your own router's username and password, if Sky eventually catch up and de-register routers not being used by current subscribers, you may loose your connection. Make a note of your router's details just in case, you can always put them into the other router to get it back on line.

It is a Sagem Router, exactly the same as i was using.

Had update the Firmware on it as it still had 1.5 Sky Firmware.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

My point is that when routers are given out by Sky they are scanned into their equipment. Until it is scanned in it will not work, even if it is a Sky router. When routers are replaced or the user leaves, these details should be removed from their equipment, rendering them useless on Sky. So far, Sky does not seem to have done this, but in the future they may.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

Now you know the router is the problem why not just unplug it and phone sky and tell them its dead, no lights or anything. They won't be able to "see" it as it won't be synced, and will send you a replacement. While they persue this "cannot use your own router" policy they must expect to send out loads of the things and you could always return your duff one to keep everyone happy.
