Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

It is possible there has been a noise spike which caused your line to drop, subsequently is has quietened down and your noise margin has gone up. If you reboot and get back up to 8Mbs that is what has happened. It seems to have resynced 52 mins. before you posted.

Yes I thought it would be the start of more disconnections.
Will Reboot, and post my stats.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

As expected it has synced higher, meaning that the noise on the line caused the drop. It would have been useful if your modem supported something like Router Stats or DMT. Then it would have been possible to see exactly when the noise was rising, which may have given an idea as to its cause. Unfortunately I don't know of any application that will run with the Sagem.
We just have to keep hoping BT or Sky find something wrong and are able to fix it.

Re: BT engineer coming to look at my line problem

      Further update

My connection has not dropped for the last few days

Sky has not Phoned me back,or emailed me,to let me know what was going on.

On the upside i noticed approx 36 minutes ago that my noise margin was dropping,so i reboooted the router and the noise margin had risen but with the same Speed.
About 8 minutes later the router reconnected it self at a higher speed.

      Here are my stats now

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 655 717 0 0 0 0:27:07
      LAN 17315 13896 0 0 0 0:35:17

Connection Speed 8186 kbps 764 kbps

Noise Margin 7.1 db 14.5 db

These figures show you have been moved back from G.DMT to ADSL2+, so maybe they think they have overcome the noise problem, but obviously all is not well or you would be syncing up around 13000kbps
