      Ok just a quick update,still having loads of problems.
      Last night i rang BT & got them to do a line test (my phone is now just crackly/static..engaged if phoned)
      The chap ran a few tests & said yes there is a fault.BT are coming on Thurs morning to look at it,i was also made aware that if the fault was with my equipment,then there would be a 99 + vat call out charge & 85 + vat p/h labour.....

      It is one advantage of not having an NTE5 socket, as there is no demarcation line, how can you or BTO tell where the fault is. With a bit of luck BTO will sort it out and fit you a nice new socket.
