      Max - Help

      Hi Guys,

New to max, well 7 days ago. I moved from BTinternet where I was synced at 7616 and was getting download speeds to match. Since moving to Sky Max my router stats are as follows:-

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16378 kbps 765 kbps
Line Attenuation 17.5 db 7.1 db
Noise Margin 7.0 db 11.5 db

However whenever i run speedtests or try downloading I am maxing out at approx 5 - 5.5meg. Any advice would be appreciated, as I do not want to be stuck in 12 month contract if I can get out before the cooling off period ends.

      TIA

      John

that's just the downfall of wireless!!

you can try changing channel but i'd stick to ethernet if possible or look into homeplugs...

      Re: Max - Help

Well you learn something new everyday don't you! Since I proved it was a wireless problem I habe tweaked my wireless settings on both laptop and and router (sagem) and I am now getting 12meg on whatever speedtester I use. Thanks for your input. Guess I couldn't get my head around the fact that wlan was 54m and lan is 100m and the input was only 16m so how could it be affecting it, but I guess I have more than proved it was. Cheers again
