about a week ago my FTP download speeds DIVEBOMBED
      i'm talking 900kb/s down to 300kb/s

i did last week so spent over an hour on the phone with engineers trying to get help
even though the guys were very helpful nothing sorted it

so i went and did a speed test..full speed..hmm thats weird i thought
so i go to nvidia.com and download some drivers..maxes me out at 1388kb/s

but still, FTP speeds are horrendous

considering sky max doesn't have an FUP and are not supposed to throttle anything, i'm a bit disappointed with them for putting this into place

has anyone else experienced it ?

if you have full speed via http then it's not Sky...they don't throttle/traffic shape on LLU...

its nothing on my side as i've tried 4 computers on the network
also, FXP'ing to a local ftp server gets around this new "cap"
i'm gonna phone them tomorrow to find out whats going on

it's NOT Sky - you're wasting your time...have you tried a PC NOT on your network??...

PLUS, they won't help on FTP stuff anyway as it's not supported...

Re: has anyone else noticed their download speeds have gone to hell ?

My speeds are fine, still maxing out the 16Mb when I need to.

If you can get near you sync on speedtest sites and when downloading a file direct from a good server Microsoft etc then it's not Sky as already advised.

As also as advised they do not support FTP, good luck with it though.

I get terrible speeds on FTP. Browsing, downloading etc is fine though.

I don't know if it will help but you can check you FTP/HTTP download speed here-
      Advanced Broadband Connection Speedtest

It may give an indication of whether it is FTP or the site you are connecting to is at fault. If you are able to get your 900kb/s from here, then Sky is not blocking you. I got 850
