      8M down to 0.5M

my router sync has dropped from around 8000 to 576 recently - I only just got around to looking into it. Been on to sky and cant get past the first line of defense who keeps telling me my line can only support 512k. I have had 8M for the last year so why is it now only syncing at 576? There must surely be a fault on the line or at the exchange? My stats are as follows - looks perfectly good line quality to me and should sync considerably higher

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 4079 4108 0 868 2870 00:19:01
      LAN 10M/100M 243 0 0 40 0 00:19:28
      WLAN 54M 4561 4578 0 2987 945 00:19:20

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 576 kbps 288 kbps
Line Attenuation 15.0 db 9.5 db
Noise Margin 30.3 db 29.0 db

it seems BT have started putting people on Home/Office 500 - even those that have been working fine until now...

needs Sky to put a regrade order through - call tech back and get to CST and they'll sort it out...

      thanks!

Why is it do difficult to get the answer you want from them though?? I know exactly where the problem is at this end - the router syncs too slow, and its nothing to do with the number of connections using up my bandwidth as we keep going over and over and over, or the number of computers trying to use the connections, or a virus etc etc. grrrr

cause only CST (the level past tier 1) can see it's on the wrong package...

I've noticed this a lot too, don't see why..

My guess is easier than throttling...

Arghhhhh! How damn infuriating are these people????

I spent over an hour on the phone last night and nothing was sorted. I called them this morning from work and the guy "really wanted to help me" but couldnt put me through the CST as I wasnt sat in front of my equipment. There is nothing more I can do with my equipment if it is the bt product that has been changed but that wont get throught their damned "starndard aaaperating proceeedcure". What am I supposed to do, I cannot spend another hour on the phone tonight???

well I raised a Kana issue yesterday instead of hanging on the phone again and magically they have raised a CST ticket for me this morning - funny how they could do it without even talking to me where the 1st line bloke wasnt allowed to raise a ticket if I wasnt sat in fron of my equipment at home!

If you phone in he would need to go through checks.. some physical checks, etc..
Usually is easier sending in a KANA could take up to 72 Hrs to get looked at tho.
