Now my phone has cut off...

Just looking for some advice here. At about 11pm last night I checked my internet connection in the vain hope that it might have been activated (yeah right....) and saw that where previously my green light for an active connection was lit, it was now off. On logging into the router it confirmed there was no longer a connection. Since being ceased from my old provider 2 weeks ago, I have always had an active adsl conenction but cannot log in with my old provider (AOL) with my old router and sky haven't activated me with the new router.

I was actually quite excited, thinking that as weird as it would be that BT would be working at 11pm on a Sunday, BT might actually be working at 11pm on a Sunday night and sorting out my activation! That was further encouraged when I checked my phone and found there was no dial tone.

I decided to leave it and check it this morning. And yes, there was still no dial tone on the phone or green light on the router.

So, who do I contact? Does this sound like a normal BT line fault or is this something to do with the activation and Sky would be the people to talk to?

As I'm sure you'll appreciate, I don't fancy an hour long hold session trying to speak to sky if they just tell me to call BT.

      Thanks

Knowing what sky ts are like at the moment, i'd call bt faults (151 i think) and report no dialtone. Slip into the conversation that you are currently waiting for adsl activation and they may be able to help on that side of things too!

      Fingers crossed anyway

      Hi tuffjam

Yep I had the same thing but but not on a Sunday and as your phone is down as well you need to call faults and report it.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Thanks guys, I suspected that was the case. Do you know what the number is to call if I can't use a BT phone? I'll need to use a mobile when I get home tonight.

      Cheers
