      What speed will I get

I am currently on Sky broadband Base and am looking to upgrade to max, however on the Sky site they estimate that I will only be able to get 6.5Mbps. My downstream attenuation is 25.0db, which, according to test sites should easily support 16Mbps. I am less that 1km from the exchange so that seems right. I fact I used to get the full 8Mbps when I was on connect. Has anyone any idea what I would actually get on Max?

Re: What speed will I get

With that attenuation you shoud easily get 16Mb on max.

Post you router stats and we can get a clearer picture

Thanks for that, I thought so. I'm at work now but I'll post my stats when I get home.

on the Sky site they estimate that I will only be able to get 6.5Mbps
For some reason they still use the old BT speed checker, which does not give anything like accurate results for LLU. In most cases users get twice the estimate. In my case the estimate was 3Mb, I get nearly 7Mb

Well I've taken the plunge and upgraded anyway, I'm getting about 8Mbps, but I think it should be more looking at these stats. Or do they upgrade in stages?

Chances are you have not been put on ADSL2, give them a ring at 10.30, CST should be able to sort it, assuming you haven't had to go through DLM when you upgrade.

If you have the GT V1 router you can get your detailed stats from MelsNotes this will show what mode you are on and the maximum your line will support. Just press the DG834GT get Detailed stats button, put in admin and sky and copy and paste the results.

Re: What speed will I get

As expected, you are on G.DMT. Your maximum rate is very near the maximum for that mode. From this, given your good noise margin I think you would probably get very near the full whack on ADSL2+. You should call Sky and ask them to put you on ADSL2+, call after 10.30 pm as suggested.
