      Is this normal?

My sync speed is 14330 but my actual speed is:

      My stats:

      System Up Time: 189:56:13
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 787673 1481471 0 546 12841 39:50:17
      LAN 100M/Full 8916939 5547142 0 2697 1864 189:56:08
      WLAN 11M/54M 311494 76723 0 235 37 189:55:56
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14330 kbps 766 kbps
Line Attenuation 27 db 14 db
Noise Margin 9 db 17 db

Surely with that Line Attenuation I should be getting a lot closer to 16megabit. I tried the master socket but I get the same result (slower than sync). I know my line is capped at 14megabit, but shouldn't that mean I achieve 14megabit?

      Thanks

You lose about 15% in overheads and of course network traffic will also imapct.

Be happy with your stats, they look fine.

      Re: Is this normal?

It's a constant 12300-12350kbits though, it doesn't change in the evening or anything. I understand network traffic is all the time and not just in the evening, but as it's the same I can't help thinking something is limiting the speed.

Fair enough if i'm wrong though. I am happy with it, it's just seeing people with around the same attenuation as me but with 16megabit makes me wonder if I can.

      Re: Is this normal?

It is possible DLM has capped your line, your upload seems to indicate that it is not quite normal. You can phone Sky and ask them if your line is capped and if so can they lift it. You may find it then syncs a bit higher but is less stable. 90% of Broadband users would give a lot for your present speed.
