What happens when your dad's pc is turned off ? Does your connection still drop? Have you checked your own PC with netstat /b. The b switch will show you what is making the connection. Remember too that if a PC has SkyPlayer installed it will be using up bandwidth whether you are downloading or not.

Yes when his PC is off it still drops, we dont use sky player and when my laptop is not doing anything there is no additional stats on netstat, only when i start downloading a problem arises, basically sky dont want us to download anything! so much for all this crap they promise us!

      Re: Weird Problem

As you have the DG834GT you could try this. Go to MelsNotes and take your full detailed stats and post them here. This will show any errors which may be occurring on your line.

      Re: Weird Problem

One thing I do notice is that your sync speed is higher than the Maximum line rate, I did not think this was possible. I just wonder if your line is syncing higher than it should, causing errors and then a disconnection. If this is the case, capping the line may be the solution. I know no one likes to be capped, but a stable 13000 would be far better than an unstable 14400. There would be little actual difference in your download speed. Maybe IANTE would like to comment on this?

If you run your connection for a full 24 hours, then take the stats, it may show something more.
