      Re: Weird Problem

It is sounding like the router is falling over, you need to contact sky, explain to them that the router keeps locking up and you have to reset it several times of the day.

You can try two options, one call them after 22:30, or use the Kana linky below.

I would say it would be best to call them, and explain the whole situation, and fingers crossed it should get the whole ball rolling to get sorted for you.

When you get through to CST you may have to explain the problem of the locking up of the router.

      Re: Weird Problem

After 3 agonising hours, we finally got something done....

It was to do with the "netstat" command.
On my dads pc when we run netstat with no active connection almost 20 things popped up. Apparently these connections where blocking up the connection until the router finally gave way.

Now comes the annoying part, they have now reduced my sync speed from over 15,000 down to 11,000!! Bloody cheek :P

Also now they have said about this netstat my Dad is now going mad checking it, what he dont seem to understand is that when you are downloading a file ie from download.com there will be extra sites, or when downloading from a .torrent.

Thanks Sky, i now have a Dad that is running around doing netstat to make sure i dont break the internet lol....

      Re: Weird Problem

There is little point in trying to diagnose with Netstat if you have browsers and email clients open. The whole point of doing it is to find out what is running in the backgound without your knowledge. Close all browsers and run netstat /b and this will show what is opening the connection. There should be nothing except possibly programs looking for updates. A great many will find they have kservice running, gobbling up bandwidth.
