Re: STATIC IP's & Routers & READ HERE AND FIND OUT HOW TO GET PUT THREW TO UK CALL CE

Sky don't, and never have, offered static IPs...you're wasting your time...

as for router, you'll either get another V1 but more than likely a V2 Netgear or Sagem...I've not used the Sagem but the Netgear is fine...

and that number is well know to everyone on here, and tech support isn't guaranteed to be UK at tier 1 level...

I tend to use http://www.dyndns.com, dunno if that helps. As IANTE says sky do not offer them.

      Orange is up there twice.

as for static IP's O2 offer them at 5 a month extra (although my dynamic is pretty much a "sticky" IP address on o2) or there Pro package has one included in the price. (also Be do it as well for 5/month)

As said before Sky does not offer this item, it is an ISP with simple objectives, support for browsing and email, anything else is not supported by them.

As for routers, it's like Sky boxes you'll get in the post a brown box with a "refurbed" router in it and it can be of any of the makes they have supplied. I got back a v1 Netgear as the V2 ones were only just appearing.
You may get lucky and get a new one but who knows as Sky doesn't handle that end, it's a 3rd party company who sell the Sky Gnomes etc.
