      I have not used my mac code to call 02 so I think I will stop with sky as all seems well now.

      ah well if your satisfied with the sky speeds now...

      what speeds are you getting from sky now?

      Excellent 12 meg download , same as before , got my mac code through, but rang sky and they stopped it being turned off at bts end just in time, and only complaint with sky now is why they charge 10 pound for hi def but wont go there on here with that.

      But its back to normal and very good.

      Thank you. The crossed fingers worked. My migration took place on Thursday, and things were initially very good. I made one change via the member control panel to turn off interleaving (which also seems to turn on "upload plus") and now have pretty well the ultimate connection:

      Line length to the exchange is 150m (measured by BT a couple of years ago).

      After signing up with Be I had access to their member forum, and feared that I was jumping from the frying pan into the fire as they had severe congestion problems and many, many, complaints, however their firefighting / rerouting has (largely) worked. A big download torrent (Fedora 10 CDs) came down at an average speed of 2,080 KB/s, I'm seeding at around 200 KB/s, and thinkbroadband reported19,790 kbs down and 2,025 kbs up.

      So, I'm happy, while paying rather more. Would have been less if I'd left signing up for a few days. There is now a sign up promotion, with an option offering a credit to your account.

      Unless I get itchy feet again, I won't be re-visiting this part of the forums. Thanks to everybody who has shed some light into the darkness.
