      This 10 days thing

      Do i really need to keep my router on for 10 days? All ive heard from people on here is sky reducing their BB speeds. Any advice appreciated.

      It is said to give DLM a better chance of configuring your line. Many never turn their router off anyway, myself included, the amount you would save in electricity is not worth considering.

      the DLM logs errors and disconnections and adjusts you upload and download speed accordingly to get the most stable connection available. if your router is syncing at 2mbs for example and you keep turning the router off, the DLM will think the line is unstable and the speed will be lowered.

      i leave my modem and router on 24/7 along with my computer, i dont have sky though. i would say your best off leaving the router on for 10 days anyway.
