Now on connect - will i get charged more?

      Hello,

I moved address just before xmas. When i got to the new house i had to go through the rigmor of waiting for BT to activate my line etc. Anyway, i now have broadband at home and i thought i was still on Sky Mid as this was stated on the online portal. Anyway, i started to have issues (which are covered in a separate thread) and i contacted sky via email asking for interleaving to be turned off, only to get a reply saying i was on the connect package as Sky don't have LLU in my exchange. So i phoned Sky and the guy i got said i will still only be charged the 5 a month i was paying before. But reading on here and other places i see a lot of customers being charged 17.99 for connect. My question is this:

Will sky change the pricing of my connect package in the future (ive only had DSL around 3 weeks at my new address)

      Thanks all.

Sky normally only charge 5 for Connect when your exchange is equipped for LLU but there are no vacant slots at the moment, or if they are planning to LLU the exchange shortly. You would then be moved to LLU as soon as it becomes available.

It sound as if that covers your case.

      Regards,

      Felix

There are two prices one is 5 the other is 17. The 5 is for exchanges that Sky will be moving in to in the near future. If you check your account in my Sky you will see the price and reductions. There is a lot of Sky connect Customers who only pay the 5 So that is normal.
Some say it is because you also have other Sky packages. If You find that there is no reduction on you account contact sky and tell them you were told that the price was 5 and they will readjust the price I would not worry though. I only pay 5 as
I said so do a lot of connect Customers. 17 is for exchanges that will be changed
over but not in the near future. hope that is some help

Thats a great response thanks guys. My only concern now is when sky LLU will be in my exchange: Samknows Broadband - Wath Upon Dearne (SLWTH) Exchange

This connect is pretty crap lol, my pings are through the roof on an evening, i do little if any downloading and is primarily used for online gaming. I know it's BTs traffic shaping which is the underlying issue here but i just can't use it for my needs.

That the problem no updates when Sky LLU are moving into echanges you find out when they have already moved in. Connect is not that bad it has good days and bad days like everything in life you remember the bad days more.

Well i received my monthly bill today, guess what? Yep, i'm getting charged 17 a month instead of the 5 the guy on the phone said, conveniently there are no records of said conversation, hmmmm.

I requested my MAC just now, they said it could take 5 days
