Maybe they have removed part of the backhaul equipment to replace it, give it a bit longer, they are obviuosly working on it

      Re: Sky speed problems

I said I would give Sky until Monday and I have, I was down the pub last night and a few people brought it up which some other people overheard and all say they have the same problems and that they all looking to leave and I suggested Be to them That seems to be the much rated one around at the moment

Well anyway Sky were good but 1 week of blanking 2 towns of customers with excuses like "Oh the Engineer couldnt gain enterance to the exchange" is a bit BS

Be*/O2 are about to begin a major upgrade of their LLU network to accommodate the large numbers of new customers joining them.

Of course, Sky may be doing the same. But if they never tell us . . . . . . .

      Same with me Tim.

It's honestly like dial-up this morning.

If Sky's not sorted by the time mjdj has got 02, or has anyone migrated to Be yet?

Anyway almost given up hope on Sky.

      Re: Sky speed problems

Equipment has been changed at the exchanges and there are still issues, engineers are still investigating. Whatever has gone wrong with the exchange is most likely a serious hardware fault which is gonna take time and money to rectify and Sky are putting both in to sort it rather than try to ignore it and walk away from it.

      Re: Sky speed problems

I maintain my belief that the hardware connecting these exchanges to the national EasyNet network has been damaged.

      Re: Sky speed problems

Never did I think there could be anyone as inept as the call centre staff but obviously they employ the Chuckle brothers as engineers. What exactly are they doing to WORSEN the problem on every visit to the exchange(s)? Time to call in some consultants who can do their job for them.

      EDIT:

Just called dial-an-excuse. They've "replaced some cabling" again, and are apparently still on site, I'll have a look as I'm off out that way shortly. I find it hard to believe that they're on site but nothing has changed and there's been no downtime since the problem worsened this morning at 4am.
