      Re: Sky speed problems

Hi guys well just woke up come on here to see whats been happening, I must admit I just dont think this problem will be sorted anytime soon, been with sky since 2007 on broadband, and my routine over last couple of weeks is to call sky everyday, but now Im just waiting for my mac code, its weird not to have devote time to sky everyday.

I have gone with 02 broadband now and when I do get onto their network I will let you know how the speed is.

But today my download speed is 764kbs with is awful. Now im looking at skys telephone who im with as they are charging for 0845 and 0870 numbers, wont get off track, a friend of mine rang to say his broadband had become slow just up the road from me, he rang sky and they told him it must be his 3 pcs work and home use that are at fault, and told him to turn off his firewall and anti virius for the day and see how his speed was after 24 hours. So thats a sky classic if ever I have heard off. Hes right next to the exchange and is getting the same as us. He to has now got his mac code, I wonder if sky have noticed at all there seems to be a lot of people leaving skybb in the Alsager area.

Mjdj, how long have they said you'll be on the 02 network within?

How long does the migration process take?

Incidentally I passed the exchange this morning, no signs of life from the outside. There was a guy washing his car on the pavement outside which struck me as being a little random. He's probably the guy they've sent to fix it, either that or he's had enough of the speed of his Sky broadband and decided to do something else instead.

My plan of action is to call them every day and demand an update on progress. If they fail to give it to me, i'll probably go to the ASA or Ofcom, am still undecided at the moment. Still a bit angry that its taken them 2 months to even ADMIT there's a fault. Let's be honest if mjdj hadn't of made that first post, we'd all probably of been convinced by sky that the fault was with our individual setups at home. Grrrr.
Uk or irish as the guy was irish....

the quicker people learn to ignore what tier 1 say regarding faults and just listen to CST the better it'll be for everyone...although even some CST agents can't seem to read the faults board...
