Moving ISP should fix the problem from the user's perspective if it lies in some specifically Easynet / BT gear, which is what appears to be the case here. I gather from earlier in the thread that Alsager and Kidsgrove are on some form of spur in the Easynet network.

Admittedly, this is an unusual situation. Normally ADSL problems are down to the consumer's line / wiring / filters, where switching ISP makes little difference.

but thats what i ment... normally moving isp wont solve anything because 9 times of 10 its usally the customers wiring

but i did advice user "gill07" to ask the neighbours if they are having the same issues...

personally i think people rely FAR too much on their internet connection - like it's a right...

      it's a luxury good...surely you'd survive without it?

end of the day, things go wrong...some are quick fixes, some aren't - you get on with it...who's to say this isn't affecting ALL ISPs...
That's the usual excuse from ISP's, "don't blame us, it's BT". I thought we'd see less of it with LLU (even though it's relevant). We rely on suppliers at work but we never pass the buck, it's the number one cop-out in business.

It's not affecting other ISP's as I have another connection with BE at the same exchange which is working perfectly. I'm also "not relying" on my Sky connection, this is the main reason I keep my other line with a different ISP.

There are also a lot of services that are deemed "luxuries", I'm sure people would be complaining to Virgin if their cable TV had been faulty since November/December. Microsoft have lost over $1billion because of the design fault of the Xbox 360, but at least they offer a top notch service in getting the machine RMA'd for free.

The main issue is not that there is a problem but the slow pace in which it's being dealt, coupled with the lack of announcements and updates. Fewer excuses, more solutions are what is needed.

That's what has always puzzled me. Sky can communicate effectively and very quickly with a significant number of their customers through this forum - not just the forum members and visitors (699 at the this moment Saturday evening, currently online), but the large number of other forums which pick up on what is going on at Skyuser. And do they? No they don't, just the occasional Marketing announcement. Pathetic
