      Re: Cant find wireless connection

It would help if you could give a little more information on what you are trying to do, what type of PCs you have, the operating system, the distance from the router to the PC, whether you have applied wireless security etc. Then we can help solve your problem.

      Regards,

      Felix

      Re: Cant find wireless connection

thanks for the speedy reply. Ive got wireless security on as standard i assume. i use a toshiba laptop on windows vista, the router is roughly 3m away from me on my tele.

i try and searc for a wireless device and a wireless network but nothing comes up at all. I've tried using different channels but nothing seems to work.

      Re: Cant find wireless connection

Can you connect and get an internet connection if you use an ethernet cable between router and PC?

If so, disable wireless security and the PC's firewall and try the wireless connection again. Make sure that the wireless adapter on the laptop is switched on.

If that works, re-enable the firewall and check that it still works.

      Finally, re-enable wireless security.

      Regards,

      Felix

      Re: Cant find wireless connection

Is the Wireless Connection in the laptop turned ON. It could be a switch somewhere on the case or it could need the connection turning ON in the Network Connection Centre.

Have you tried connecting by a LAN cable yet (as suggested earlier) to see if you can connect to the Internet? Try this because if you can connect then it's a WiFi problem and if you can't connect then it could be something like DHCP.

You need to establish some basic facts before anyone can be of much help.

Did you try different channels with the router security turned off?

      Re: Cant find wireless connection

Can the laptop not find the router?

      Try some of these suggestions:

      1) Click on this http://192.168.0.1/

      2) Username: admin Password: sky (unless you have changed these details)

      3) Click setup top left hand corner

      4) Make sure there is a tick in both of these options

      • Enable Wireless Access Point
      • Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)

      5) You could try turning the security off by ticking Disable under Security Options

      6) You could try changing the channel of the wireless by selecting Channel: and try on a different number, ie 11 or similar
