It might be that someone cancelled their package which then freed up a slot on the exchange, so yes in theory it may only have been the one slot left.

wowsa, thank god for this thread driving customers off connect...

Well I have just had a confirmation text saying my Sky broadband order will be up and running by the 23/3, confirming the website and also confirming what BT wholesales adsl checker says. Very odd indeed. I never thought Sky would deal with individuals. Typical though that it would have been someone placing a new order that got the LLU slot and not an existing Connect customer, talk about salt in the wounds.

On previously talking to a really nice and senior guy at Sky he mentioned that migration of connect customers to LLU was done as a bulk migration and never on a one by one basis. He could even tell me how many people were queued up awaiting a move, he just couldn't predict when it may happen.

Cheers all, also, any chance of a go-live before the 23/3? Here's hoping.

If BT go in early you may get lucky but more often than not it is on the day.

This is what happens when an exchange is newly enabled, but slots are filled when they become available on an enabled exchange, as in your case. Moving from Connect to LLU requires that your line be unplugged from one cabinet and plugged into another one, hence the actual move depends on when BT have technicians in the exchange. It is not just a case of flipping a switch.

Good luck with requesting your MAC code. I emailed them thinking i'd use the 21st century technology at hand and it took them 4 days to reply, but no MAC code, that will follow apparently. What an utter waste of time. So i'm now on day 9 of requesting my MAC code and conveniently, for SKY billing anyway, a further 17 is due to be taken from my bank account again.

The words 'rip' & 'off' come to mind.

Hi here`s a little information hope it helps
Ring again and advise them you are aware of the rules and if you don't receive it in line with the ofcom regulations you are going to report them. Also advise that if the line is ceased you will also report them. The officially have a period of 5 days to give it to you.I think you can use the KANA form for this, it may be easier and bypass the idiots like the last one you spoke to.What are Sky doing, they look like their loosing the plot lately!!!!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

OH dear, theres me just ordered Connect, pretty much to get the Telephone package as well.

Does anyone know if I can refuse/cancel the service after it has started migration. Gave Sky my MAC code 4 days ago...

If it was cancelled, would I need to tell my existing provider that I am staying? Currently have 3 Xbox's online at once with no problems, sounds like that will be a dim and distant memory moving to Connect

Be interesting to hear from any Happy Connect users at the moment.
