      Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      All great comments and 02 at least they have said something. The main thing is they are saying we have a problem and should be resolved in mid April. Communication now access Customers know there is a issue but it is being resolved in mid April no problem
      Sky on the other hand mid management either deny there is a problem or think they can resolve it. Until Sky realise that customers are important as 02 have and all credit to them. Where do you think they got those customers from I would say Sky Connect.
      sparkey You say the Bt Engineer has already been out and speeds low again you can see what is happening to a lot of ISP`s on Connect type package. If you want to show your speeds you get from Bt speed test you can by left click cover speed test then right click copy then on post left click and paste to post

      You are quite right. But, what good is 40 Gb allowance or even 100Gb allowance when you can't use it as it should be used? I do wonder how many Connect customers really require a 40Gb allowance.

      If you want a second class service with a large allowance that can't be used as it should then that is your choice.

      My choice as a low user is to opt for the 'premium' product and not suffer an inferior connection. From my point of view the extra paid for this service is minimal and extremely good value and makes the internet enjoyable as it should be.

      Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      And that's the whole point, the connect package is perfect for many and not so perfect for others.

      I bet there isn't one person on the Connect package that couldn't download the full 40Gb in a month, they just may not be able to do it at the full connection speed.

      The Connect package is working just as it is intended, but like all packages it isn't suited to all. Sky will not double the capacity overnight just because a few are complaining, it costs too much.

      This seems to be something Steve does not seem to either understand or want to believe, posting here on a regular basis his speeds, good or bad wand asking Sky reader to note them just won't make a difference, if he needs a better suited package he needs to move, the mountain won't come to him or anyone else

      Question Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      * Broadband package: Sky Connect
      * Normal Speed: 8mb
      * Current throttled speed: 1mb
      * Average usage per day: Browsing, uploading about a meg worth of files.
      * What does this throttling affect? Gaming

      Other notes:

      Between 4-10PM Sky becomes un-unusable - Packet loss soars up and above 40%

      The trick of changing microfilters, renewing all ENET cables doesn't seem to work, and i'm probabaly going to switch back to Broadband rather than ADSL. Lost all faith in Sky, believe it or not it's happened since BBC iplayer was released, i heard it was eating up the entire network (few people i know who work for Sky say so)

      Seems pretty high numbers though, everyone uses BBC iplayer most at HD quality so thats like 1MB/s which will add up :/

      But yeah, the joys.
