Thumbs down Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      hi all
as posted earlier it would appear that when sky made the
useage policy and system management they decided it would be applied the way they wanted and not the way it is written,
i got no email or any other warning that i was useing too much
when i signed up i was told that they (sky) had never throttled or restricted
anyone and there was no plans to do so
it just shows the agents that sell you your package are not told anything about future plans

when you ring ask receptionist to be put through to Customer Relations the calls are monitored
and they will get someone to ring you and they will ask you has your problem been resolve
obviously has not and they will help they helped me lots of times

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      hi
to be honest i cant be bothered any more this has been going downhill since november last year and i have decided when i find another provider sky can have there tv and broadband and stick it where the sun dont shine, as i am sick of talking to people at sky who are obviously not interested or are also fed up with telling people lies.
so come next month i am off to a new isp and freeview tv.
hope things get improved on sky for the good people of this forum
and thanks for all your help

      Don't hesitate any longer.

You cannot rely on the Connect product, one day it is OK (just OK) the next it is dire, so, unless the download allowance of 40Gb (which, when severely throttled is useless) appeals I would get out asap.

The two ISP's I would look at are NewNet and IDNet. They offer an excellent service that is guaranteed to be unthrottled without any port blocking. Slightly more expensive but worth every penny for internet peace of mind.

I found that even if Connect was running OK (after 5pm'ish) my speeds were basically doubled with a proper ISP. Worth thinking about!

Don't be influenced by posters who are receiving favourable rates for their internet connection courtesy of Sky.
