      ^^^^^^^^
Looks interesting but there is only one server covering Europe and that's in Switzerland.
The BT tester is still the most accurate for Connect, but this one will tell you whether you you are being throttled(as if you had to be told)

My contract with orange broadband is ending next month anyone tell me the best deals? I have no LLU in my exchange, I would say I am a medium user.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

so after a bit of ticket ping pong with broadband support I eventually got speaking to CST (I did a day of downloading the 10mb files at various times from BT Openworld and keeping the results as requested only to call up to find my initial ticket had been closed!) I then had to call back this evening and fight my way past teir1 to open another ticket and the wait to be put through to CST, I then had to go through a speed test again via Test Result the results of which are as follows -

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
      Your DSL connection rate: 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 7150 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 451 kbps

After a bit of a chat with the initial CST guy he basically said there was nothing he could do other than to refer it through to the specific CST Offnet team who deal with the Connect package, I await their call with interest although I already know they won't be able to do a lot about BT's traffic crippling..... ooops I mean shaping

No you really dont, your paying for a service your not recieving and under the law you can get out of your contract with proof, i was 3 months into VM contract and did the same and told them bluntly am not paying i want out now and they had no choice!

yes you do, the contract states that you're connection will be traffic shaped (ok, a bit overzealous - not contesting that!!) but during the day it's fine...

i'm sure Sky have been careful as to how they word it and it's probably why they've not yet said anything officially as they wanna get it right and not leave themselves open to interpretation...

yes they state that our connections are traffic shaped however they also state quite clearly...... "There are no restrictions in place for applications such as browsing, email, streaming, instant messaging and VOIP during peak times." sadly this definately isn't my experience. does bbc iplayer come under streaming?
