      Speed problems


      Broadband package: Sky Connect
      Normal Speed: 2.4mb
      Current throttled speed: just depends anything from 300kbps +
      Average usage per day: online alot/hammer
      What does this throttling affect? hardcore gamer

      doesn't seem to bad today...

      Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
      Your DSL connection rate: 5696 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)

      Time 1800 07/02/09
      IAmNotTheEnemy Pleased you got some better speeds about time.
      I`m of to watch a good film. Because I know its going to drop lower.

      i usually do, doesn't bother me really as I just browse so I'm never affected...I've never really complained about my speed, just put up results from time to time for comparison purposes!

      If I was really bothered I'd complain to my manager at work as he'd have nowhere to run then!!!

      i am absolutely amazed!!! first time my speeds have ever been like this since the throttling started happening!!

      Broadband package: Sky Connect
      Normal Speed:5Mb
      Current throttled speed: 5725kbps, 3223kbps, 1736kbps, 3597kbps, 2595kbps
      Average usage per day: Quite Alot

      Are sky finally doing something about this. im normlly crawling along at 500kbps right now, but im happily going along and roughly what my speeds usually are.

      it had better stay like this because i use my connection this time of day mainly and its been a real pain recently. thank you sky or whatever has made my speeds increase

      in my post above you can see there was a big range of speeds.

      now its averaged out at about 2mbps which is alot better than what it has been recently but still half the speeds i used to get

      its an improvement though

      HI Saw you had ran a test with Bt so I thought I`d have a look at mine as you say I only browse
      thats really all I do. Ran a test with Skyusers speed tester and it was a fair bit lower so thought a film which I enjoyed. Get your drift about the manager. No need to brow beat him until you really need him.

      Come on Sky Give us at least a hint. We all know by now what is happening so
      forget telling tier 1 and CST to blame Bt. What I want to know do Sky Management
      think their Customer are fools because if they do it does not make them any better
      I can see a big media coverage of what is happening to Sky`s Connect Customers
      and it looks like there might be a problem throughout all Sky`s B B because as soon as anyone has low speeds for any reason they think they are being throttled
      thats the first stage of panic and we all know what comes next

      Take a look at this reading! 6.55pm on a Sunday evening.

      Yes, it is 2009 and this is the service provided by 'award winning' ISP Sky.

      What was a dial up speed some 5 plus years ago? A total disgrace and should be dealt with by our 'award winning' ISP.

      • Current throttled speed: 0.3mb - 0.4mb

      • Average usage per day: A little (Browsing, streaming, Gaming)

      • What does this throttling affect? Browsing, streaming, Gaming


      Many websites won't even open and the ones that do take ages.
      Video streaming is completely blocked, can't even use Youtube.
      I can sign into Xbox Live no problem but not PSN at all, and the PlayStation 3 is the console I use the most so that doesn't help.

      I've had enough of this because it's been going on for at least the last 2 months (I Know I started having problems before Christmas), not every night though for that duration but it has the last 6 nights in a row.
      Received my MAC code from Sky last Monday, the Migration to a new ISP takes place this Tuesday.

      Just done a speed test, not a pretty sight:
