Just 20 minutes ago zooming along quite happily. 5pm arrives and look at the result. You could almost set your watch by it. See my earlier post today with day time speed posted.

There is no doubt to me the switch is thrown between 5pm and 6pm every evening. Definitely we are being throttled in a big way.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Still no news to report back. I guess that until this new Project White is live, people are just too busy. Which doesn't help those suffering with this issue.

What cheeses me off more than anything, is the amount of time it gets to actually receive a response from a department in a timely manner. The FW for example has taken months so far and we are no nearer to receiving it. As for the shaping on Connect, that's taken since 12th January and there is still nothing concrete that we can pass on to you guys and gals to let you know what's going on.

Yes I know SkyUser ain't a priority to Sky, and also that we have no divine right to demand or receive answers, but customers who pay for a service, deserve some answers or an explanation at the very least.

Check the samknows website and see if you have any better options than TalkTalk, they stink.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Im trying to download an episode of something, at 5.45pm it was trotting along at 415kbps on utorrent but as soon as the clock hit six, utorrent isnt even logging a speed anymore, and the eta is 3years and four days!!!
Its only 350meg for christ sake.
No Sky, you deffinetly dont throttle lines *ahem

I do agree though, when you call up sky they automaticly assume you're thick as two short planks. I've called them four times over the past few weeks and got nowhere, but they ask you the same damn questions everytime!! Even if you start the convo with "im very computer literate, i run my own IT business" (which i do)

I shake my fist at Sky,
if they have such an issue with talking with BT then maybe we should arange from them both to go on jeremy kyle...they clearly have issues that need resolving.

And I thank you for your efforts running a line test atm with speedtest.net, followed by a BT Speedtest followed by telephone call to sky...

      BT Speedtest:

      Your DSL connection rate: 7648 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps (was 6000k 2 weeks ago)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1074 kbps

and a pointless call a that seeing as there's nothing can't that be done by tech...

as I said before Sky need to buy more capacity, or turn off the traffic shaping at the detriment to those users who don't use it a lot who'll get raped by those hogging the bandwidth...
