      Broadband package: Sky Connect
      Normal Speed: 5-6mb
Current throttled speed: 0.5mb-1mb (during 6pm-10pm))
Average usage per day: Gamer - WOW
What does this throttling affect? Browsing / Gaming (continuious DCs and lag)/

I have spoken to Sky and they have asked me to run Test Result using my MAC. They have also confirmed that I am well within my usage allowances.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

I'll gladly see them in court. I'm being throttled despite being well wwithin the limits. If sky choose not to give reasons for this then they are in breach of their own contract. I pay for the service and if I'm not getting the service and no reason is given I can only presume sky have decided to restrict my service for no reason.

      Hi!

You have said several times that 'it is being dealt with' could you enlarge on this and tell us where you received this information from? It would be most useful to have this information.

      Many thanks.

I agree yunorison. on here "it's being dealt with", sky TS "nothing we can do" Frankly a pathetic way of dealing with people who part with hard earned cash for a service that some senior sky person has seemingly decided that he;d rather keep his largely undeserved bonus payment than see customer satifaction. I pity the TS staff who must be gettting innumerable angry and frustrated calls. Come on sky admit there's a problem and deal with it we aint stupid!

I would've thought my name and avatar were enough clues as to how I know...

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

AS I said i've nothing against the staff at sky, but If I fork out 17 for theatre tickets and it then becomes apparent i'm only going to get 1 tenth of the performance. I'm going to be pretty irate. Sky are the internet SERVICE provider. I care not if the lines are through BT, Sky provide MY SERVICE, therefore should be acting in MY best interests. I've just spent 2 hours on hold to see is ts will do anything. got an answer explained my case and got hung up on. I rest my case

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

it states in the T&C's that Sky will traffic shape in the evenings AND will also enforce the FUP - meaning if you exceed 1.4GB in a day you'll be monitored for the next day. if you do it again, you'll be throttled on top of the traffic shaping...this is in the contract signed by you so failing to pay will go against you...

however, i agree that it needs to be sorted as i'm also being hit for no reason (well, perhaps last week was justified but not now!!) and we're all trying to find out what's going to be done...

however, shouting at tier 1 - who have no access to anything - will achieve nothing...

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

I've not exceeded 1.4gb recently. even tho it;s a pathetically small amount of data when you consider for example, the patch for fable 2 was 534mb. So being throttled is against my T&C. I have the logs printed off.
UK broadband really is in the stone age. I lived in both france and Holland and 20-30mb is the norm reliable and never restricted in the pathetic way this country works (or doesnt) I dont even blame sky for that BT however are definately to blame. how can we have a properly competative market when the lines are mostly controlled by a corrupt multinational like them!
