Sky are now in control of the Traffic Shaping

So does that mean the constant complaining to sky customer support, might actually get us somewhere?

Don't really have time for this anymore, having just started a new job and done 6 days work last week. On my single day off... I log into an online game, only to find a seven thousand ping and then three instant disconnects. Times like those, other ISP's are very VERY tempting (as in, i'm already hovering over the order button). Last time i phoned their tech support.. i was on the phone for over four hours, and they still couldn't work out what was wrong (i.e, wouldn't admit to traffic shaping).

278kbps... Nine bottoms out by my router in the last three hours... Not the way i wanted to spend my day. Cheers sky .

Hi there seems to be something wrong Your DSL connection rate: 6848 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), and your IP profile for your line is 7150 kbps Your DSL connection rate should be higher than your IP profile but yes your Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 278 kbps is very slow. The problem is the Connect package is not any good for online gaming. It has been said many times on different threads so no matter what is said to Sky they will tell you the connect package is Traffic Shaped

My whole internet is wrong with sky tbh .

Having been on at them for more than a few days worth of phonecalls i'm fed up. We all know they've been traffic shaping, yet whenever i have questioned them (guessing blonde and a sheet infront of them) they've always refused to comment, or tried to confuse me with technobable (having built my first pc at the age of 14, thats kinda hard).

The rates might be down to the weather, since its been extremely thundery today where i am (as in, lightening has actually been striking around the town/villages, less than half a mile away). But meh... Guess i'll be getting back on the phone to them.

Check your exchange for other LLU providers like O2 and Be.

      If not then try:-

Plusent, Zen, IdNet or ADSL24, these all have packages on the BT product but manage them much, much better, Plusnet have a gamers package which is meant to be great for gamers.

I suggest you have a read of the other threads and understand what is going on before you jump to the wrong conclusions.
