Sky just need to wake up and take notice, its probably some bigwig at the top who hasnt a clue and should stick to satilite tv! and not broadband.. Sky either

      A. Need to increase capacity (wont happen to costly)
      B. Decrease the users (ones who constantly break T&C)
      C. Get a better system of Traffic Management
      D. Lower the Allowance for all future customers to an acceptable level within budget! (as far as i know 30gig is the limit for around the 17 mark)

      B. Decrease the users (ones who constantly break T&C) SHOULD happen
      C. Get a better system of Traffic Management is being worked on
      D. Lower the Allowance for all future customers to an acceptable level within budget! (as far as i know 30gig is the limit for around the 17 mark) don't think it'll happen

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      A. might happen No It wont, not until 21CN is finished, alot more ISPs are doing similar stunts.
      B. SHOULD happen should but doesnt.. out of 1000 users maybe 10 gets the kick, and for those 10, 20 more join...
      C. is being worked on to late, confidence is already gone for alot of users.
      D. don't think it'll happen yup cause its the sensible option..

The Doctor we have been reading quite a few of these issues lately and most seem to be on connect package, I dont know fully if bt are placing any sort of limitations on ports or torrent users, but on there own internet services they mention traffic shaping etc at peak times.
Is that When Sky first started traffic Shaping or was there any before that

I would say no, that is more likely to be exchange contention. Sky seem to have started throttling, or managing connections during the last quarter of last year. I would be interested to know when they slipped the relevant regulations into their T & Cs, it certainly was not there originally.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Hi Tom I am still reading that 2006 LLU and connect were traffic shaped and 2007 connect Customers complaining about the traffic shaping and having to wait for LLU one here from 16/02/07
What are we going to do about Sky not upgrading us from Connect?
Trying to find when Sky had put the Traffic shaping in their T & Cs
Here`s a good one 11/01/07 Traffic Shaping On connect Package

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Come on chaps, this forum has been great and in its own way useful, but really it is time to face up to facts.

We can submit our thoughts here from now until whenever, but Sky have taken absolutely no notice and, I am afraid to say, will never do so

Our intentions are admirable but are totally ignored

The stark answer is this: If you require a proper service from an ISP, (non LLU) give Sky Connect the elbow NOW! repeat, NOW!

As stated many times before go for ISP's such as NewNet or IDNet who provide a service that can be enjoyed. However, be prepared to pay a little extra for this service. You get what you pay for.

Please don't keep complaining about Sky Connect, face up to it, it is rubbish and should be elbowed now!
