All for the good of others i should be online today with my new provider after work wahooo, i shall do a few speed tests if my profiles set up ok. Anythings better than sky connect!

(i think am more likely in Q4 for 21cn rather than an LLU provider)

As long as you are not going to have any problems thats the main thing
just done a Bt test 17:20 10/04/09 test finished 17:30
It says result image not loaded
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
      Your DSL connection rate: 4064 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 3500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1036 kbps
at least it is usable but seems faster than the results
Skyuser Broadband speed tester 1616kbps down 355kbps up the reason I think Bt should upgrade their Performance tester I might be wrong but thats my opinion

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

I have been with sky connect 2 weeks i was previously with sky broadband at my old address for a year and had no problems.

But this sky connect is a joke i am being throttled continually even when it is off peak hours (3am etc), my download speed starts at between 1 - 4mb/sec but drops to 15KB/s - 50KB/s within about 10 seconds and stays there for the duration of the day.

My 56k modem seemed quicker back in the 90's than this joke of a service, i need the internet for my work and this is taking the pi**.

Sky Broadband Speed test results are

      Test taken
      (up to)
      12 April, 2009 08:48:52

      Download Speed (Kbps) 480 Kbps

      Upload Speed (Kbps) 343 12 April, 2009 08:48:52

Although this won't help with your speed as the Connect package is limited at least for the moment, if you do Speak to Sky, do not mention that you use it for work or business purposes as this is agains the T&C's.

That said, it may be a blessing if they kicked you off

Do the BT test from Steve's link and post the result.

They may accept it but they will still do nothing about it.

If the Connect package is not working for you, the only real option to cure that is to leave, and as fast as you can without looking back

Absolutely the right advice. Get out while you can, the service after 5pm is inferior and should not be tolerated.
