      New the forum...

After 3PM to Way past midnight. My connection slows to a crawl, online gaming is near impossible with pings of 150+

Is a current test at around 5PM. This is completely and totally unacceptable. It means I can't down anything, play any games for most of the afternoon, evening. Very frustrating.

      ADSL line connected at:

      DownStream Connection Speed 6240 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 448 kbps

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

I see some things never change. I really do sympathise with all you Connect subscribers having experienced the shoddy and unfit product myself. Luckily i had done my 12 month sentence, sorry contract, with SKY and was free to move on, but in all honesty if i'd only been 3 months into a 12 month contract i would really feel screwed.

I jumped ship to IDNET, as recommended by someone on this forum, it looks like it will be the best move i've ever done.....time will see though.

But the unofficial Sky User forum, and this forum, is beginning to reap rewards. I've lost count of the number of people i know who were thinking of changing to Sky as an ISP and have now gone somewhere else, they all point to a simple Google ISP search by name and this forum tells them everything they need to know. As an ex businessman myself i cannot see how Sky can go on supporting the Broadband Connect product while it steadily undermines it's other broadband products, over time Connect's bad publicity will reflect on Sky's whole broadband portfolio....bad news for any company.

Still, in the short term, they are raking in the subscriptions while tying everyone into a 12 month contract...something impossible to do if they offered 1 month contracts.

For anyone still suffering on the Connect product i really do understand your frustration, get out while you can ....IF you can......For every Sky User member that helped and advised or commented on my posts...a big thankyou...you helped me more than you'll ever know. I would NEVER have had the guts to move ISP without your support and advice.

And if a Sky employee happens to be reading these posts i have only one thing to say: listen to what you're customer base is saying...they're fed up with the product and the service and your response. In time you may come to realise how the experience of your Broadband Connect product poisoned every other Sky service you offered.

      Hi all

Just an update to my previous post page 101... Sky have agreed to cancel our contract ( broadband/tv) with no financial penalties. In addition we can keep the sky + box etc.

We were 6 months in to our contract but after seeking legal advice and holding them to there own terms and condition's we can finally jump ship lol....

a little persistence can pay off so good luck to those who want to get rid of connect. Now though we are looking for another provider any suggestions as wary of making same mistake again?
      many thanks.

Hi pleased everything is going well. I agree Sky have some great products. But human nature people always seem to remember problems rather than achievements. Anyway you enjoy

The US changed the time that they moved the clocks forward, they did it at the start of March for some reason.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

No improvement in my evening's speed - Why would there be I guess ?

Have cancelled my proposed Telephone package and will be cancelling my SKY Connect tomorrow, luckily still in my 8 days period.

Do SKY ever look into this thread/forum ? - They really need to fix "connect" and stop their agents from Blaming BT.

      My 7:30pm test
