You cannot get un-throttled, it may not even be the throttling that is affecting you, chances are it is a capacity issue.

Gaming is not viable on the Connect package and with no fix in sight your only choice if you want to game is to switch ISP.

Try Zen, Plusnet, IdNet, I think they all do specific gamers packages.

i doubt this applies to me as there are _no_ LLU operators at my exchange

These are not LLU, they are re-sellers of the BT Max package, exactly the same as Sky Connect, but they manage it better.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

      Hi all
would just like to add our pennies worth. We are currently on the connect package as are a lot of other unfortunate people, the service was fine for 3 months then out of the blue our speeds were so low we could not do basic browsing. After numerous calls to sky and speed test's twice a day ie: daytime 6800kbps/7500kbps - evening 480kbps/1000kbps. We'd had enough of being told BT were to blame so we phoned for legal advice and were told after reading sky's term's and condition's...section 11. If you believe you are being treated unfairly you can cancel........However a WARNING DO NOT AS YOU ARE THEN IN BREACH OF CONTRACT. We have been advised to hold sky in breach as under the supply of goods and services act 1982....the product they are supplying is unfit for purpose, therefore you are within your right's to demand that you are released without penalties. They have said they will release us but have not confirmed this in writing just e-mail. however we are demanding to be released from all services as we signed 1 contract for 3 services tv/telephone/broadband....

      Legal advice telephone number 08454 04 05 06
This is a link to the government funded website. Consumer Direct
If sky fail to act they will be reported to the relevant bodie's etc
so the more complaints the better as sky are failing to deliver on this product.
I hope this help's many of you. and good luck

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Finally got my Mac code after phoning them up.
The guy asked why I was leaving so I told him and said they Throttle the connection during peak hours as it costs too much for Bandwidth.

I also spoke to BT via the Webchat they have and the women told me that all ISP's throttle the connection (ADSL) during peak hours including BT.
