Well if your using Windows vista, just fire up command prompt and enter this:

      Code:
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal

tried that m8 and got this reply, set global command failed on ipv4 the requested operation requires elevation.
dont pretend to understand why this failed but thanks for the sugestion anyways.

Yeah you can think UAC User account control for that ,
Right click on the command prompt and go to " run as a admin "
      That will do it .

Thanks Steven, it worked when run as admin, didnt make any difference to my speed which tested at 1880 mbps.
i think i might try my old wireless router i used with my old isp when i was getting 5000 + mbps to see if it makes a difference, just got to get my username and password out of this modem first, wil report back on the results.

To the OP, it appears you are having throughput issues also similarly to myself. Frustrating as hell isn't in when all Sky say on the phone is that the sync is fine and it takes an age to get the call elevated.

Have they got as far at looking at exchange issues yet?

Though, could it be a setting of some sort with more than one user experiencing these problems.

I gather that one user mentioned 'Only 3 throughput issues over 31000 users', then again, maybe we were the only 3 with enough tech. 'know how' to come onto here in the hope that it would be resolved?

Re: slow download speed, is this as good as it gets? sky says it is.

Hi guys, well i thouight i would update you on the problem i was having,
my broadband just kept getting slower until it came to a point where the pages were taking ages to load and i could not take a download speed test as it was so slow.
Well, after been told it was capped, it wasnt capped, it was my set up, my line only supports 1 meg speed, ect ect, after a final call to sky tech they finaly came to the conclusion it was a problem at the echange, and after having no broadband for couple of days, bt must have fixed it cos for the first time in about 8 months i am getting speeds of 5000 kbps, so it looks like it was a problem at the exchange after all.

Its great to get 5 meg, just like the good old days with Plusnet, am a happy chap,
but as for Sky tech help, well ........

Re: slow download speed, is this as good as it gets? sky says it is.

      Hi,

My stable and constant 2mb/s connection has been downgraded to 511kbps due to DLM. I never had a problem at 2mb/s, and downloads always maxed out at this speed without trouble. When I first got broadband installed, I actually had perfectly good 4mb/s connection, but that was downgraded after a couple of days.

The US support was painful, having to explain my simple set up again and again, reset modem, take apart master socket etc. After two calls and 40 minutes of them insisting it was my problem, they admitted that DLM was running on my line. Why the ****** didn't the just say that from the start

They said the couldn't change my sycn, and I'd have to wait a few days for DLM to finish before they can do anything else.

Post your router stats and we can have a guess at what you should get after DLM.

I'm now down to 0.3. It's getting slower by the day!

Connection Speed 384 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 49.0 db 26.5 db
Noise Margin 12.9 db 23.0 db

Before this, I was experiencing a solid 2mb. Downloads were always maxed out at 215kb/s. When I first got Sky Broadband, I was getting 4mb just fine for a few days before being downgraded to 2mb.
