Thumbs down Connection loss at specific times

      Good evening all,

I am currently experiencing problems with my Sky broadband, The router is dropping at around about midnight every night and not returning until the following morning at around 11am. After contacting sky I was rudely told that they would charge me 159 bill from BT if they find the problem to be mine. Firstly the phone works perfect ive done an online phonecheck with BT which states 'no phone line problem'. Sky found this problem extremely strange but would not put me through to CST as 'they would only say the same' the internet works perfectly all day until midnight in the online utility it just says LCP Down no matter how many reboots, resetting nothing changes.

      Thanks again,

      George

I know it sounds daft, is there anything that would switch on via a timer between these times? Central heating etc?

What time are you phoning Sky are you doing it when you can not connect. I have found that if you have an ongoing problem is to phone them at that time.

Then after they have gone through the script it will get passed on.

That how I found out that my old connect package was being capped by BT at a particular time.

Have you called sky when the connection drops ?
As there is not much they can do when its working as all line tests would pass,

All this means is that the " Copper line check " passed ok,
This is one of a few tests that can be done to check the line ,
Remember most line checkers and BT only check the phone side of the line ,
So just cause the line tests pass and the phone works does not mean there is no line faults on the line ,

Can you give some more info on the full set up,
      How many phone sockets ?
Whats is plugged in to what socket Ect ,

      Regards
      Steven

Thanks for your quieries Steven, the router is plugged in via a cat5 cable goin straight into the back of the master socket there is one phone plugged in in the living room and one in the dining room where the master socket is situated. The internet didn't go off for the first time in 4 nights last night so i'm at a loss as to wether to even bother reporting it again.

EDIT: Oh just to mention the master socket has a ADSL Nation test plate if thats any more required information.
