      DNS Servers Acting Up??

I've been having issues over th apast few days accessing my web sites I maintain on site5 as in pages not appearing and not responding.

I thought this was an issue with the provider but my canadian relation who I assist in the running of these sites can access the sites without issue.

I changed my DNS servers to the opendns settings and can now access the sites without issue.

The IP address of the host server is 74.54.2.24

Anyone else having issues with some sites??

Lots of people on here recommend moving to OpenDNS for DNS. It seems to have solved your problems and also confirms Sky DNS isn't the best DNS!

I have had no problems at all since forcing the OpenDNS servers into my router

Web browsing is fast and great

Apart from Rapidshare, Sky STILL block that :@

I did use OpenDns as I had a load of issues, however, I changed back to the Sky ones a few weeks ago, and touch wood not had any issues so far. Sky's DNS appears to be both good and bad, and if I have the same problems again, I will go back to OpenDns.

Sky are not blocking Rapidshare at all, the problems are at rapidshares end. Google rapidshare problems and read threads on sky user there are many suggestions that do work!

I tend to use default DNS servers and then if there seems to be a problem stick openDNS into windows for a couple of days.

Yeah I have read the threads and other forums too.

I still don't see how it is rapidshare. I have the workarounds and use them all the time, but it is annoying that I HAVE to use these workarounds, yet I can go next door, use the EXACT same link, watch it connect to the EXACT same server and work perfectly fine.

I still believe the problem is Sky, Rapidshare also tell me the problem is with Sky.

I think it's more to do with the amount of people trying to connect to RS and big bottlenecks forming.
