They aren't altering the service providers line at the exchange so at this point they are just flanneling you. BT Connect is a service on the line provided at the exchange, a BT service which is throttled in the evening so that BT don't have to upgrade their equipment etc. BT are not altering the line at all, they are just carrying out Business as normal on BT connect. Now the interesting thing my TL is trying to get out of our bosses at Sky at the moment is this.... Does Sky have an agreement with BT that says they cannot do this or is the Connect package dealt with in exactly the same way for Sky customers as well as BT customers (ie throttling peak times). Now if there is something in Skys' contract with BT that states they are not allowed to impact performance of the service then BT will have a headache soon.

I certainly hope this is the case, and sky can give BT a slap. It just seems so wrong that BT can do this to a competitors customers.
Spoke to sky cst this morning asking if they could get BT to re-profile my line but cst said it would be pointless as my line is fine and BT are throttling it at peak times.
Did ask for my MAC code a while back but think I will not jump ship yet as I have been very happy with sky until BT turned rambo loose on me.

Can't wait to find out if what BT are doing is legit(contract wise)

      Please Sky unbundle my exchange

      Hi fugly

I was offered my Mac code told them here for duration. If we all keep leaving and
moving to different ISP`s bt will win. But make a stand say no not leaving
What annoys me is the letters from bt am i having problem and am I happy with my
provider plus telephone call which I told them sky BB and talk was brilliant one or hick ups
but that not going to last long. (all the time biting my tongue) caller just said you are happy,
I said yes you should have a look at sky. caller replyed I have sky tv. made my day.
      bt bring it on.

Re: At the end of my teather...

Finally I have my computer back to normal (Totally conked out, non sky-related though)

But yeah I'm still hopping along at a steady 200KB/s

And my throughput still hasnt budged from 1500K

Anyone ever get the option for a second test on the BT line checker?
I have twice now and haven't a clue what its trying to ask me to do.

You are talking about the bt speedtester
It is a 3hrs wait between tests

Yeah I know that, but sometimes the test fails and asks me to take the second test whatever that may be..

But that's by the by, tomorrow I'll ring them up and see whats going on.
No doubt I'll just get some guy reading from a manual without a clue as to what he's doing.. and when he says he's 'going to get someone higher up'.. he puts me on hold then after 10 minutes, hangs up.

      Yeah it happened.
