As IAmNotTheEnemy said templeton1 was only getting a sync speed of 4000 a few days ago now that this has changed the profile will go up ,

There is no point calling cst to get the line changed as by the time they get the fault logged and bt look in to it the profile would have changed any way .

So templeton1 just keep a eye on the tests and you profile should change soon closer to 6500 / 7000 .

Re: At the end of my teather...

Hmm it seems everytime I unplug and plug my router back it (Power cable) the synch rate changes everytime.. now its at 5126 kbps but the upload rate stays the same everytime... is that normal?

I'm still getting 300kb/s download rate, so that'd say my profile hasnt changed still

      Hi Steven_Belfast
As I said the same thing happened. bt then capped the line on bt speed tester I was down to 135kbps download that was from 4.3Mbs it started
bt now say my line will only hold 1.5Mbs thats what happens on connect not to
everyone Sky got bt to re-profile line and that is what came back 1.5Mbs the funny thing is bt speed tester shows ip throughput test 2Mbs and last actual 1885kbps It is going to get better just takes time which I have plenty off

Re: At the end of my teather...

      Hi folks ,

      Steve
A line rate of 135Kbps is not a good sign,
BT would put a line rate or profile this low due to a low sync rate and then yes a fault log would need to be made with BT,
But most of the time this is a set up issue or temp line fault and this is why tier 1 & CST do checks & more checks before logging to BT .

      Templeton
You say every time you break the connection and re-sync it again the speed changes this is ok and will happen .
But remember no matter what sync speed you get it will take time for the ip profile to change in the connect package so if you do get a good sync speed do not turn the router off again , lol

Sky CST said for some unknown reason bt had throttled my line sky said
being a bt exchange they could do nothing about it they said it was more than
likely bt`s Rambo never had problem on line before moving to sky talk a funny
thing though got letter from bt asking if I had a problem with my new service
provider. told sky you have a problem that needs solving. Solve it because I am
here for the duration. reading different threads it looks like I am not the only
      one.

No your not alone steve16751, I have been suffering the exact same problem for over 4 months and sky say they can do nothing about it, even though I only used 10gb at the most last month.

There is nothing that Sky can do unless they have it in their contract with BT that BT do not throttle Sky customers

BT telephone call told to quote. BT Policy cannot change or alter other service providers lines in bt exchanges without other service providers permission. As every Service Provider
Knows. Does that mean going back to bt NO. I have a saying DON`T P... ON MY HEAD AND
      TELL ME IT`S RAINING.

That's exactly what I was told by BT, but I guess they can as this is what ppl tell me at sky and on this forum, it is a shame that BT can control sky's connect customers like this and to say they are managing the line is nonsense as I use very little bandwidth tbh.
I like to do some online gaming but in the evenings it is terrible, so now I don't bother with the pc from about 5/6pm.
I'm just astounded that sky let BT do this.

Re: At the end of my teather...

So what I can gauge from this is that i should ring up sky and ask them ask BT to repfrofile my line then everything will be dandy?

I just took another BT speedtest -

      Your DSL connection rate: 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 1500 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1395 kbps

      So it's getting slower?!
