Sky router used as network router

i'm using the wireless sky router, connecting my two laptops at home. My problem is that i've got an old laser jet printer which i cant connect directly to the laptops. I've found out that the printer can only linked to the laptops via network router. Is it possible to use the sky router as a network router. So that i can connect my printer to the sky router and then router to the laptop to print out documents.
I would be very grateful if anyone can advice what i can do.
I have spoken to sky broadband team and they have advice me it is possible but they dont have any information how i can do it. But advice me to check sky forums.

I think the first thing we would want to know is if your printer has a wireless or ethernet connection.

If it's ethernet then is should be a case of plug it in and set the PC's to see it. Ensure you have the drivers installed on the PC's.

You may have to give it a fixed IP but I would just try it first.

Re: Sky router used as network router

1)Plug in the printer to the Router
      2) Install printer driver from HP website for you model printer
      3) Make it search the network to find the printer during install
      4) Login to printer config page (will vary depending on setup)
      5) Change the ip address to the one you want
      6) Try and print

If this does not make sense I suggest you try and get hold of the manual as it will show you with pictures how to do it.

Let me know if you need any further help.

      Regards
