well you could get bt to do a line test as it could possably be a PSTN fault... but this is unlikely... wait for the new router which should be with you tuesday i expect.... and if its still the same then their is a line fault...

It could be a faulty modem card in the exchange, but we will see...

Re: This is driving me insane...Please Help!

      So here's the issue, ...

Told them that my router was syncing okay at 16368kbps last week but it wasn't producing the same throughput and speed for my connection.

Was on the phone to them for 3 hours and eventually came off the phone at 1:20am on Saturday with them dispatching a new router. Got the new Netgear V2 router this morning, and suprise, suprise, the router syncs at 16379kbps, upload at 748kbps but the output on my PC? The equivalent of a 1.4Mb connection!

Currently on hold to CST again, anyone got any ideas of what this problem could be, or has heard of such a problem before?

      Regards.

Note: With being on Sky Broadband Max and Sky LLU, could it still be a stuck IP profile?

There are no 'Profiles' with Max LLU.

I think the problem has now been narrowed down to the exchange. Changing the modem card there may cure the problem.

I really don't get this problem...

So perfect sync, but terrible throughput.

Has anyone heard of this problem before?

So what did CST say? If they can do nothing, it looks like a cease and re-provide may be your only way up.

Re: This is driving me insane...Please Help!

      You're telling me!

CST said that they've done all the line checks they can do. However, have sanctioned BT to change all my equipment to new gear at the exchange. Now, once that is done if the problem is still not resolved what can I do?

Btw, what is a cease, and how could this have been caused?

Also, what is meant when you say I may have to have my service re-produced?

What could have instigated this problem?

      Regards

Re: This is driving me insane...Please Help!

Lets hope that they find something amiss in the exchange. It is the only thing left apart from going to another provider.

A cease and re-provide would mean taking broadband off your line completely and putting it back on again.
