Re: up and down speeds alot of router reseting

Yeah was plugged into the test socket back it its normal socket now last night when i got in from work i checked my router status and my speed was at just under 512k still could surf ect quick reset and was on 2048 which seems to be ok at the mo, just seems in the eve it drops loads. my line seems ok and not seen any bto vans about. one person on sky tech help said that i changed my line rental to them they are probly doing a dlm, which i thought they only do on new sky bb conections.

      cheers again

If you went with Sky line rental when the service was "moved" it may have triggered DLM but the tier one would have seen that for sure on one of the tests run so I cannot see why they said "probably"???

Re: up and down speeds alot of router reseting

As I said earlier, it looks like you have an intermittent fault which is causing your line to drop. The first stats show that your connection disconnected at about 7.30 pm and reconnected as fast as possible, which was 640kbps at this time the noise margin would have been about 7dbs. In the 4 hours since then the fault has cleared itself allowing the noise margin to rise to 23dbs. When you reboot it then connects as fast as it can, this time 2048kbps.

If possible, keep a note of the times the disconnections are happening and see if you can associate this with anything that is happening in and around your house. This could be anything from Xmas lights to central heating being switched on. It may even be a loose joint under the road which moves when a heavy vehicle passes.

I should say, it is normal for the noise on lines to increase in the evening, causing the noise margin to fall, but this would not cause a swing of over 20dbs.

It looks like you have had another drop out, reboot and your sync will rise and noise margin will fall.

Re: up and down speeds alot of router reseting

All you can tell them is that your noise margin is fluctuating a lot causing the connection to drop. Remember be plugged into your test socket to get the best chance of getting it fixed. If you are not they will probably say it is your internal wiring that is causing the problems.
