      Moving home with Sky

      Hi all,

I am moving home next month and I want to take my Sky package with me. I have TV, Phone and Broadband and line rental with BT.

I know its easy to move the TV and have done it many times before but Its the first time Im moving my phone and broadband.

The house im moving to currently has TalkTalk, which is in the process of being cancelled.

Ive been told that the line will be "stopped" so to re connect I need to get BT to do it who will charge me 120 pound!

Can anyone shed any light on the process of moving sky broadband etc?

      Thanks,
      John

If Talk Talk have taken the line over, then as far as I know, BT would need to reconnect it. I am not sure if BT have any return back deals at the moment. May be worth a call to BT?

Also you will need the number and line to be in Sky's database before they can order the BB for you. This can take up to 10 days from connection, although normally quicker.

      Reading BT's site

It does say 'There may be a 122.33 connection charge. We'll let you know if this applies once we've made more checks.'

Get a new or extra home phone line from BT - or reconnect today

      Re: Moving home with Sky

If you keep your line rental with BT and the phone line can be reactivated without a visit to your home then there will be no charge The 122.33 is to cover a visit, survey and install of a brand new line, which you dont need.
As a side issue, now is the time to see if your new home has a NTE-5 master (the split face one) If it has an old type tell them and they will change it during the activation normaily for free.

      Thanks for that NewsreadeR.

Yeah I will give BT a call once I know the TalkTalk line is gone which is starting tomorrow.
